

Vice President - APAC, Global IT & Telecommunications Infrastructure Solutions Provider
CDS Executive was retained to find a Vice President - APAC for a leading global software company that delivers scalable, real-time, end-to-end management of complex IT and telecommunication infrastructure. We had previously placed Country Manager positions in Japan and India for the same client and had a good relationship.
This new position would not only head the region but one of the first requirements was to relocate the current regional head quarters from Sydney to either Hong Kong or Singapore. The final comprehensive short list contained interested and qualified Mandarin speaking talent. The lead Consultant on the search traveled to Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai to finalize candidacy.
The client had a very thorough interview and due diligence process with eight key interviewers in the US and Europe requiring to meet the finalist candidates in person. We managed the busy candidate and client expectations across different time zones and keep all parties interested and focused. We were successful in placing a qualified candidate and the client has expressed their appreciation of the high quality shortlist presented leading to a successful placement.

Country Manager, Pre-IPO Enterprise Software Start-Up
CDS Executive was retained by a pre-IPO enterprise software company looking to establish their first office in Japan. This client had first engaged another firm but been unable to find the right candidate.
The client needed a dynamic leader that could both develop new channel partners and build a small team on the ground in Japan. Within a month of being engaged we had introduced four shortlisted candidates through extensive networking in the enterprise software space.
The client successfully hired a Country Manager with a proven track record in the software and consulting industries, who was able to quickly develop new channel partners and drive business in Japan. The client subsequently engaged us on a successful pre-sales manager search.
Executive-level Pre-Sales Business Development Team, Enterprise Software Company
CDS Executive was retained by a leading US enterprise software company to help build a new executive level Pre-Sales and Business Development Team. This was a new area of business for the company and there were many competing companies trying to develop the same area, all vying for a very small pool of talented and skilled candidates. If successfully launched, the new business had the potential to become a large new revenue stream and senior management was under a lot of pressure to deliver on the hiring.
We were originally retained to build half of the team, while the other half was to be hired through the company’s own internal recruiting team. As a result of our research-driven approach, we were able to thoroughly map the market and identify all potential candidates for the role, regardless of their status in the market. We shortlisted seven candidates, and successfully placed four into the company, despite being initially retained for only three roles. The company was only able to hire one person through their own sourcing efforts. The client has subsequently engaged us on additional retainers across a range of sales and professional service areas.
